Troubleshooting Yield-Pro installation
Black screen when opening a 3D model
Symptom
When you open a 3D model in Yield-Pro, the main 3D view remains completely black.
In most cases this is caused by Windows using an outdated or limited OpenGL implementation. Work through the steps below in order.
1. Update the graphics card driver
An outdated graphics driver often provides only an old OpenGL version.
Download and install the latest drivers for your graphics card.
(in case you have a NVIDIA card):
Go to the NVIDIA driver download page.
Download and install drivers for your graphics card.
Restart the PC.
2. Check if Windows uses integrated graphics instead of the dedicated GPU
Sometimes Windows chooses the integrated GPU, which only supports a lower OpenGL version.
Use DirectX Diagnostic Tool
Open the built-in DirectX Diagnostic Tool:
Press Win + R, type
dxdiagand press Enter, or search fordxdiagfrom the Start menu and press Enter.
In the window that opens, go to the Display tab.
In the Device section you should see information about your graphics card, for example:
Name: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
If you do not see your dedicated graphics card here, Windows is not using it for display.
Possible causes
The PC has two or more display connectors, but the monitor isn’t plugged into the graphics card connector
Physically reconnect the monitor cable to one of the connectors on the graphics card, not to the motherboard.
Open Task Manager → Performance → GPU and check that Utilization is non-zero when Yield-Pro is running.
The PC runs without a monitor (“headless”) over remote control
If you use Remote Desktop, TeamViewer or similar tools, check their settings.
Look for options such as Enable hardware acceleration, Use GPU for rendering, or similar, and enable them.
3. Force Windows to use the graphics card for Yield-Pro
If the steps above do not help, explicitly tell Windows to run Yield-Pro on the high-performance GPU.
Open Settings → System → Display → Graphics settings.
Click Browse and add the Yield-Pro application:
Browse to
C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Roaming\Scientific Visual\Yield-Pro.Select
studio-pro.exeand click Add.
Click Options for
studio-pro.exeand choose High performance.Confirm the changes and restart Yield-Pro.
